The players of the English football team were the target of racist chants in Budapest, during the match played with Hungary for the qualification for the World Cup, won by the guests. The English were whistled and booed as they knelt on the field in the opening game. The English Football Federation immediately announced that it will ask FIFA to investigate the incidents, writes  BBC .

Reporters present at the stadium say that during the game, fans were sporadically heard from the stands shouting at two players of color.

After the goal of 1 to 0, scored by one of them, the Hungarian ultras threw in his direction with beer glasses. Another was cursed by Hungarian fans as he warmed himself on the edge of the field.

British television journalists present at the stadium reported that “sporadic monkey sounds” were heard from the stands, directed primarily at Raheem Sterling, when the black footballer was touching the ball, writes  Sky News .

The English Football Federation (FA) said it was “disappointed” at the end of the match in Budapest following the incidents and said it would ask FIFA to investigate what happened.

“It is extremely disappointing to hear information about discriminatory actions against some of our players in England. We will ask FIFA to investigate the matter. We continue to support players and staff in our collective efforts to highlight and combat discrimination in all its forms, ”he said.

Hungary has also been sanctioned by UEFA after incidents at Euro 2020. The match between Hungary and England in Budapest, on Thursday evening, ended with the score of 0-4, for the English scoring Sterling (`55), Kane (` 63) , Maguire (`69) and Rice (` 87).
